This person writes, “My first car was a 1940 Ford Standard Coupe purchased in 1953 from Unser 's Used Car lot located at Central and San Mateo Ave. When I sold it, it was in grey primer. The dash was Standard and painted red but I replaced the hood, grill and front bumper irons with the Deluxe. The hood and deck lid were leaded. The gear shift was rotated 180 degrees to the left side of the steering wheel. I have recently restored two 1940 Ford coupes and often wondered if anyone in your regional group wound recognize my first car and know if it survived. If possible could you circulate this letter to your group members in the event anyone remembers this car? If so they can communicate with me by email at My address is 250 S. Lyon Ave, #140, Hemet, California 92543 and my telephone number is (951)203-8680. V-8 Member #914628 40 Fords Forever! Thanks, Jerome.”
